I take back all the comments I made about Alaska not being much colder then other places since its so dry, not windy, etc... The temp dropped to almost -30F the other day and slapped me back to reality. You know its cold out when the plastic in your Gore-Tex makes crinkling noises as you walk.

I moved in to my own place recently. It's a bit far from town but it's nice and cozy and has plenty of space. It even has a heated garage!

I've always moved so often that I never accumulated much stuff; Instead, relying on roommates to bring the personality to the place. Fortunately, the old tenants left a bit behind so I won't have to start from scratch.

A depressing weekend

I lost touch with most of my friends back home and, after moving back, find myself in the market for new ones. I play soccer quite frequently with a certain group that I've known for several years and thought they might be fun to hang out with off the field as well. I was invited to a housewarming party for one of them and arrived fashionably late with a bottle of Puerto Rico's finest in hand. Honestly, the first 2-3 hours were fun and I made friends with a few people that I had wanted to meet for a while.

I'm not sure when it happened but I noticed that people began drifting upstairs one-by-one. My curiosity got the better of me when I noticed that there were only a handful of people still downstairs. Quite unintentionally I happened to glance up the stairs and see one of my new "friends" inhaling a drag off a nice fat joint. Very sad. I lingered around for a few more minutes and then made my way home.

I'm not sure why I took it so hard. It's not like I was especially close to any of these people. Maybe it was because this person was one I would never expect to be into weed. Or perhaps it was the combined effect of lo

The window shop used to be a Saab dealership and came equiped with this lift. No longer will I scootch around on my grease-monkey ass! It's tucked away in a back corner of the shop but its worth it for working on anything underneath a car this tiny.
